Gender Coordinator of DPC officer arrested by Odisha Vigilance while accepting bribe

Balangir, July 21: In Vigilance operation on Friday Puspangini Joshi, Gender Coordinator, office of District Project Coordinator(Samagra Shikshya) Balangir, while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs 31,000 from complainant Mitrabhanu Majhi , ex-hostel in-charge of Patnagarh, Solabandha, Kasturaba Gandhi girls School for clearing hostel mess bills and issuance of Clearance Certificate to him in respect of maintenance of hostel expenditure.

Based on the complain if Sri Majhi, a trap was laid on July 21 wherein the accused Puspangini Joshi was caught by the Vigilance team inside her office room while accepting bribe the bribe money from the complainant.

The entire bribe money was recovered from Smt. Joshi and seized in presence of witnesses.

Both hands wash of Smt. Joshi found positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by her.

The trap, simultaneous searches were launched on the rented  residential house of Smt.Joshi located at Shantipada , Balangir town, parental house at Nuapada, Sirtol and her office room at Balangir.

Accused Smt.Joshi was arrested and will be forwarded.

In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance PS. Case No.21 dated 20.07.2023 U/S 7 prevention of Corruption Amendment Act, 2018 has been registered and hence under investigation.
