G20 Meeting Held in Ramnagar, Chief Scientific Advisors Brainstormed on Pandemics and Changing Climate

Bhubaneswar, MARCH 31 : A roundtable meeting of the G20 Chief Scientific Advisors was held on Wednesday at the Taj Resort in Ramnagar, Uttarakhand. On the second day of the meeting, the Chief Scientific Advisers of G20 and the invited countries discussed various scientific ways and means to deal with emerging health and other issues.

During this many points were discussed in detail. Discussions were held on green development, climate finance and resilient development. In the meeting, scientists brainstormed in the round table on the changing weather in the world and many important points. The meeting, which began on March 29, was attended by 13 major organizations from 17 countries of the world and 51 representatives. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also participated in this meeting. This is the first meeting of G20 in Uttarakhand.

Ways to make science related information accessible and free were also discussed during the meeting. In addition, discussions were held on strengthening the global science advisory system to verify expert traditional knowledge and its proper scientific validation. The delegates participating in the meeting discussed four agendas such as One Health’s opportunities for better disease control and pandemic preparedness. In the meeting, brainstorming was held on saving the world from epidemics.

In the first agenda, there was a brainstorm on the opportunity in ‘One Health’ for better preparedness to deal with disease control and epidemics. In the second agenda, discussions were held on how to make science-related information accessible to everyone in an accessible and free, quick manner. The third agenda included developing a global policy on diversity, equity, inclusion in the field of science and technology, coordinating global efforts. The fourth agenda discussed strengthening the global science advisory system.

Earlier, a grand welcome was given to the delegates who arrived to attend the G20 Summit. On their arrival, they were welcomed with Choliya dance. Traditional folk dance was also organized on the occasion. Keeping this meeting in mind, all arrangements were made to beef up the security arrangements in the area. On March 30, the last day of the meeting, the delegates will be taken for a safari in the Jim Corbett National Park.
