Bolangir: Forest officials arrest timber mafia, sieze 19 logs

Bolangir, Jan. 7: The forest officials of Bolangir on January 7, 2024 arrested a person while he was allegedly illegally transporting kendu logs on a vehicle.

The accused was identified as Md. Nasuridhin of Sunapali in Sambalpur district.

The accused was held at around 3.14 am while he was transporting 19 logs in a Tata-207 mini-truck registration number OR23-C 9995. He was caught during a night patrol on Tusura to Gudvella Road near Tel river.

Range Officer Y. Jal led the raid. Forester B.D Sahoo and forest guard Sukanti Sarap of Deogaon Range also participated in the raid.

Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Nitish Kumar congratulated the officials for the successful raid operation.
