Five terrorists killed in encounter with security forces in J&K’s Kupwara

Jammu /Kashmir,June 23 :Four terrorists trying to infiltrate from Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK) were killed in a joint operation conducted by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police in Kupwara on Friday. This was the second major infiltration bid foiled by security forces in a week.

The gunfight occurred close to the Line of Control (LoC) in the Machhal sector in Kupwara. The terrorists were attempting to infiltrate to the Indian side from POK, Kashmir Zone Police said.

The gunfight broke out when the terrorists were spotted attempting to infiltrate the Indian side.

On June 16, five Pakistani terrorists were killed in a gunfight with security forces in the Jumagund area of Kupwara district.
