Father and son drown while bathing in sea at Puri in Odisha
Sources said five members of Ranjan’s family had checked into a hotel on the shore of Bay of Bengal near Puri’s Swargadwar. Around 2 pm on Wednesday, all the members went to sea to take a batch.

Puri, May 3: : In a tragic incident on Wednesday, two tourists from Howrah in West Bengal drowned while taking bath in the sea in Sector 13 near Swargadwar in Puri.
The deceased were identified as Ranjan Das (50) and his son Rishav Das (60).
Another tourist who was also taking a bath with the duo was rescued by the fire services personnel and admitted to the district headquarters hospital.
Sources said five members of Ranjan’s family had checked into a hotel on the shore of Bay of Bengal near Puri’s Swargadwar. Around 2 pm on Wednesday, all the members went to sea to take a batch.
While all the members were enjoying their shower in the sea, all the five inadvertently entered the deep waters and started to drown.
The lifeguards on duty rescued three of them while the father and son drowned.
The police seized the bodies and sent them for post-mortem.
