Ex-minister Prasanna Patsani lauds scribes for selfless service
Balasore SP Sudhansu Sekhar Mishra gets wide appreciation for impressive speech at OUWJ meeting

Balasore, Aug. 1: Odisha Union of Working Journalists (OUWJ), Balasore unit, on July 31 celebrated its 7th annual function here. Former minister and BJD leader Dr Prasanna Patsani inaugurated the function.
Mr Patsani, while delivering his speech on ‘Journalism should be passion in place of profession,’ said OUWJ Balasore unit is capable delivering professional excellences.
“Many journalists like Dr. Harekrishna Mahatab have left their footprints in the field of politics. I will not be surprised if some of the Balasore journalists prove their worth in this respect,” said Dr Patsani.
Making an inspiring speech, Balasore superintendent of police Sudhansu Sekhar Mishra said, “The scribes, as the torchbearers of democracy, have been playing incredible roles in keeping the society and government in good health.”
The SP exhorted the journalists to serve the society with passion and honesty.
The participating journalists applauded the SP Mr Mishra’s speech.
OUWJ Balasore unit president Ujjala Chandra Kar presided over the meeting. Secretary Rabiranjan Das delivered the annual report.
Other guests included Odisha secretary Sugyan Kumar Chaudhury, sadar MLA Swarup Das, Remuna MLA Sudhansu Sekhar Parida, eminent personalities such as Narendra Bihari Das and Santosh Kumar Khatua were present in that meeting.
More than 10 social activists were felicitated by the guests for their accomplishments in various fields.
Besides, two inspectors of Odisha police were felicitated for their persistent pro-people services towards the society. The two police officers who were felicitated for their meritorious services are Ashok Kumar Nayak, IIC Sadar, Balasore and Subhranshu Sekhar Nayak, IIC Sahadevkhunta.
More than one thousand people joined the programme.
