Union Budget 2023-24:  ‘It’s capital-oriented, growth budget that rides on technology and digitization,’ says CSM Tech Founder & CEO Priyadarshi Nanu Pany

Bhubaneswar, Feb. 3:  The maiden budget for Amrit Kaal has cemented the vision of a progressive Digital India with distinct focus and impetus on AI, 5G, digitization, tech-skilling and IT-driven frameworks, said CSM Tech Founder & CEO Priyadarshi Nanu Pany.

In his budget reaction, Mr Pany observed that the announcement to set up an open source, digital public infrastructure for making the farm sector inclusive and resilient was a welcome move and the idea of an agriculture accelerator fund will encourage active entrepreneurship in the AgriTech space.

“Three new Centres of Excellence for AI and 100 labs for developing 5G services application will promote research and development (R&D) and democratize use cases of emerging technologies for public good.  The National Data Governance policy is a stride forward ensuring data privacy and seamless data management. The National Financial Information Registry is again a fantastic step ahead in centralisation of financial information of individuals and organizations,” Mr Pany added.

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal VikasYojna 4.0 and the plan to set up 30 Skill India international centres will reinforce India’s skills leadership and targets skilling in emerging technologies like AI, mechatronics and drones, he stated.

“DigiLocker for MSMEs, integrated Income Tax portal and app-based tourism promotion for 50 selected destinations add further fillip to India’s tech aspirations. This Budget strives to create an enabling ecosystem for technology companies, drives competitiveness and sustainable growth and propels India to be a leader in digital technologies,” Mr Pany remarked.
