Condolences On Death Of Eminent writer Mangalu Charan Biswal

Jajpur,Jan 12 :Eminent writer, lyricist, and academician Mangalu Charan Biswal breathed his last at his residence in Baradunguri village under Rengali block of Sambalpur district on Monday night. He was 87. Biswal died of old age problems. A few days back, he had fallen in the bathroom in his home and had been admitted to VIMSAR in Burla.

He had recently returned home, however, was not fully recovered and had been bedridden for a long time. Born on May 4, 1935, at Pitapali village in Sambalpur, he had started his career as a school teacher at Sripura village in Jharsuguda. His contribution to Sambalpuri literature is incomparable Biswal wrote many Sambalpuri plays including ‘Bhukha’ which was later made into a movie of the same name.

He has long been involved with All India Radio (AIR) and Doordarshan in Cuttack and Sambalpur. Many of his writings are still in school textbooks. is death has left a void in the academic world.
