College girl commits  suicide in the hostel  – parents alleged murder

Jajpur,Mar 28 : An 18   year old college girl of the Government Polytechnic  college at Ragadi under Korei police station in Jajpur district  allegedly committed suicide on Monday night   by hanging from the ceiling fan in  the college hostel.   The deceased has been identified as  Rojalini Patra  of Sendhapur  village. She was reading in third year  in the electrical branch   in the college .   But the parents of Rojalini alleged that she was killed.

 On Tuesday morning  some students  found  the door of the  room of Rojalini was locked from inside.      They  informed the police and the parents of the deceased .  Parents rushed to the college and they along with others  broke into the room  and shifted her  to the community health center  at Danagadi     , where doctors declared her dead. Police seized the body. No suicide note was recovered at the spot , said   Sanghamitra  Nayak the  IIC of Korei police station.

Amulya Patra the father of the deceased on Tuesday filed an FIR in the police station and alleged that Rojalini was murdered  and her  body was hanged from  a ceiling fan   in  the hostel   to portray it as a case of suicide .  Acting on the FIR , police  filed a case under sections- 302, 294 , 507 and 34 of IPC  in this case, added the police officer.
