BPNSI concludes successful ‘Swachhata Pakhwada’ with comprehensive cleanliness initiatives

Bhubaneswar, April 2: The Biju Patnaik National Steel Institute (BPNSI), under the Ministry of Steel, Government of India, successfully concluded its Swachhata Pakhwada campaign, held from March 16 to March 31, 2025. Aligned with the Swachhata Mission directives of the Ministry of Steel, the institute orchestrated a series of impactful activities focused on promoting cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental sustainability.
The campaign commenced with a dedicated cleaning drive at BPNSI’s Ispat Bhawan office, spearheaded by Director Shri Pritam S. Purkayastha, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees. Subsequent activities included Shramadan efforts at an Anganwadi center in Unit 4, a comprehensive mass awareness campaign at the Unit 4 Market, and an informative Swachhata seminar designed to educate employees on optimal hygiene practices.
Extending its commitment beyond institutional boundaries, BPNSI organized a thorough slum area cleaning drive in Sastri Nagar, a significant beach clean-up at Puri, and a revitalizing pond cleaning initiative at Narendra Kona, Puri, underscoring its dedication to environmental conservation. Additional noteworthy events encompassed a plantation drive, an engaging painting competition for school children, a compelling Nukkad Natak focused on climate resilience, and an impactful anti-plastic awareness campaign at the Unit 4 Fish Market.
The campaign culminated in a signature drive, reinforcing BPNSI’s unwavering commitment to cleanliness and sustainability. The initiative garnered widespread appreciation, effectively fostering a culture of hygiene and environmental responsibility among participants.
