Bless the conch symbol ; BJD leader VK Pandian

BY AKSHYA ROUT

JAJPUR, MAY 25 :  Addressing public meetings at Sukinda In Jajpur District On Saturday BJD leader VK Pandian Said dared the BJP to name a chief ministerial face.

The exchange between the former allies has turned bitter, even acrimonious while, in an uncharacteristic move, chief minister Naveen Patnaik also called the opposition “thieves” and appealed to people not to vote for the saffron party.

A writer before joining politics, Patnaik is known for his impeccable language skills and high standard in his own political campaigns. He also delivered his trademark speech this election season that was characterically short and to the point.

“Is BSKY (Biju Swastya Kalyan Yojana) good? Is Mission Shakti good? Is Mamata Yojana good? Is the Laxmi Bus good? Is 5T school good? Is scholarship for students good? Is the Kalia scheme good? Is Madhubabu pension yojana good? Is the chawal card good? Is the work in Puri good? Is Naveen Patnaik good? Is the conch symbol good?” he asked the people. He then appealed to them: “You bless me, bless the conch symbol, bless the BJD’s MP Sarmista Sethy and MLA Pritiranjan Ghadei. Bless good candidates.

VK Pandian, who said the BJD will have a strike rate of 90 per cent in the state’s first phase polling. “We will create a record. “please bless our chief minister. There are three more days left. If you work hard, 90 per cent will be converted to 100 per cent. As our chief minister said, some thieves have become candidates. Give a fitting reply to them.”

The freshly minted BJD leader then challenged the BJP to name its CM candidate. “For the past 24 years, they have been searching for a chief ministerial face. Despite being a big national party, even after 24 years, they are not able to declare a chief ministerial face and they will not be able to do so. That is because they are scared. If they declare a chief ministerial face, the number of their seats will drop below 10. People of Odisha know this.

Even the BJP knows this and, so, they are not declaring their chief ministerial face,” he added. “The big indication this election is that the trust of the people in Prime Minister Modi will translate into votes in both the Vidhan Sabha and Lok Sabha.

I have a fundamental question for our opponents in the Lok Sabha elections – who is their prime ministerial face? Our prime ministerial face is Narendra Modi. Who is the prime ministerial face of the BJD? Let them make that clear,” he said. Minster Pritiranjan Ghadei Said “bjd government has always stood by the poor and weaker sections of the society. This effect will continue and I want to make this state the number one province in the country” He Said Naveen is my idol and Sukinda people are my life, says minister Priti Ranjan Ghadai people will again extend their support to BJD candidates because of the welfare programmes launched by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and the state government.Neither double-engine nor single, only Naveen Patnaik engine runs in Odisha and it is the strongest.
