BJP releases its ‘Sankalp Patra’ for LS polls; focus on poor, youth, farmers, women

NEW DELHI, APR 14: With just one week to go for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party on Sunday unveiled its poll manifesto with a special focus on ‘One Nation One Poll’, ‘CAA’, and employment opportunities.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi after unveiling the party’s Sankalp Patra’ (BJP calls manifesto as this), asserted that the BJP will work to implement each and every guarantee listed out in the manifesto.

The prime minister handed over copies of the manifesto to the representatives of the four broad groups — Gareeb, Yuva, Annadata and Naari Shakti (GYAN) — who were beneficiaries of the government’s schemes.

The party’s manifesto listed out a comprehensive overview of the NDA government’s achievements. It also charted out the vision for building a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047.

The BJP manifesto pledged to establish cultural centers worldwide in honor of the Tamil saint Thiruvalluvar and to promote the Tamil language.

“As we all know, Tamil language is our pride and it is one of the world’s oldest languages. The BJP will make every effort to enhance its global reputation”, Modi asserted.

He also added that BJP will create the necessary infrastructure and ecosystem for straightening good governance, digital governance and data governance in the country.

“We will move forward with the resolve of ‘One Nation One Election’ and the BJP considers implementation of the UCC significant for the country”, he said.

Dropping hints about some strong decisions that would be taken after being voted to power; PM Modi said that the BJP never shies away from taking big and tough decisions in the interest of the country.

“For us the country is bigger than the party. Nari Shakti Vandan Act has now become law and BJP removed Article 370 and we have brought CAA”, he said.

He claimed that the NDA government led by the BJP will progress in its third tenure by embracing the principles of Reform, Perform, and Transform.

He also announced his party’s resolve to strengthen the rail network across the country as per the party manifesto.

“BJP will also expand the Vande Bharat trains to every corner of country. Three models of Vande Bharat will run in the country, chair car and Vande Bharat Metro”, he said. He also expressed his party resolve to run the bullet train in every part of India.

“Now BJP has resolved that in the coming times, it will speed up the journey towards modernity by starting one bullet train project each in North India, South India and East India. The survey work of this will also begin soon. The work of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train is progressing rapidly and is almost nearing completion”, he said.

He also added that his party has figured resolves to set up satellite towns which will emerge as growth engines for the rural economy and nation’s development.

He also reiterated his commitment to making India a hub of food processing.

He mentioned that the BJP plans to include transgenders in the scope of the Aayushman Bharat Yojna.

The PM also stated that approximately 10 crore women have been linked with Self Help Groups (SHGs) in the past decade, and the BJP intends to support 3,00,000 rural women.

He also claimed that the next five years will be of new participation of women’s power. He said that BJP Sankalp Patra is a reflection of the young aspirations of Yuva Bharat.

“In the last 10 years, around 25 crore people of India have moved out of multidimensional poverty. This stands as a testament to the BJP strong commitment to a result –oriented approach to work,” he said.

Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman released the manifesto for the polls that are scheduled to commence from April 19.

Addressing the gathering earlier, Singh said the manifesto embodies the guarantees the prime minister has given to the people of the country.

“Modi ki guarantee” is the recurring theme of the manifesto, he said.

“Modi ki guarantee is equivalent to 24-carat gold and has emerged as the gold standard of governance,” the senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader said.

Singh, who headed the party’s manifesto committee, said more than 15 lakh suggestions were received from across the country and those were incorporated into the document.

The manifesto talks about implementing the “one nation, one poll” initiative, preparing common electoral rolls, abolishing waiting lists for train travel, expansion of 5G networks and organising Ramayan festivals the world over.
