BJP lines up its President, CMs, and Union ministers to give further push saffron surge in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, May 18: With Odisha now becoming its ‘focus state’ in eastern India, especially after the party won 297 of the 854 Zilla Parishad seats in the recent rural polls, – the BJP has lined up a number of leaders, including chief ministers of the BJP-ruled states, to visit the state between May 26 and June 15 to highlight the success stories of the Modi government in its three years of rule.
Apart from chief ministers, several Central ministers and Members of Parliament will also visit the state and hold public meetings to highlight the pro-poor initiatives of the NDA government and its achievements in three years.
Soon after the visit of the BJP CMs and Union ministers, BJP national president Amit Shah will come on a three-day trip to the state from June 22 to 24 to maintain the momentum.
Mr Shah, according Union tribal affairs minister Jual Oram, will visit three districts such as Ganjam, Jajpur and Khordha.
“Party president Amit Shah would undertake booth-level visits to directly interact with people about the implementation of the Union government’s pro-poor programmes. He is also is also scheduled to visit the state again in August though the dates would be decided later,” informed Mr Oram.
According to BJP state general secretary Bhurgu Baxipatra, Union urban development, housing and urban poverty alleviation minister M Venkaiah Naidu, agriculture minister Radhamohan Singh, minister of state for external affairs Gen VK Singh, minister of state for heavy industries and public enterprises Babul Supriyo, minister of state for drinking water and sanitation Ram Kripal Yadav and minister of state for petroleum and natural gas Dharmendra Pradhan will visit the state during 21-day period.
“The party has decided that all active members of the party will spend at least 15 days at booth level till July 5, 2017. Of the 36,000 polling booths in the state, each worker of the party will focus in one gram panchayat outside his/her home district,” said Mr Buxipatra.
The other objective of the public outreach programme, informed the BJP leader, was to find out whether welfare schemes of the Government reached the intended beneficiaries or not.
