AM/NS India observes 36th National Road Safety month

Paradeep, Feb. 27: With an aim to spread awareness on the importance of road safety, ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India has observed the 36th National Road Safety Month 2025 at its operational and project sites in Odisha. Keeping in line with the theme of the campaign “Drive Safe, Arrive Safe”, various activities were conducted for employees and workers in Paradeep Pellet plant and Dabuna Beneficiation Plant, including a road rally followed by a mass meeting on road safety, quiz competition, song competition, slogan and poster competition, story writing competition and creative video competition. As part of the safety outreach program, awareness sessions were conducted in nearby communities and various competitions such as quiz competition, slogan and poster competition were conducted for students of Saraswati Vidya Mandir in Paradeep, etc.
In the valedictory ceremony, Shri Suresha G, Executive Director, Odisha Operations, AM/NS India and Shri Nageswar Rao, Chief Safety Officer, AM/NS India addressed the gathering of employees and workers and awarded the winners of the various competitions held during the month-long campaign. The ceremony also witnessed insightful discussions and on-stage performances by employees on road safety.
Across Odisha project sites a similar campaign was conducted to observe National Road Safety Week during January 11-17, 2025, in line with the theme “Promoting safer roads for all”. The campaign was organised in Pradeep Projects, Sagasahi Projects at Koida, Sankari and Keonjhar Project sites, where employees, including contract employees, participated in the programme. As part of the event, numerous activities were organised such as vehicle fitness inspection camp, road safety quiz for workers and employees, defensive driving training for transport drivers, road safety rally and distribution of road safety leaflets to vehicle drivers. A valedictory ceremony was also conducted at the project site where the best safety performers among employees and workers were awarded in the presence of Shri Arun Kumar Rath, Head, ISP Paradeep Projects and Enabling, Odisha, AM/NS India, and other senior leaders.
With dedicated efforts and spirited participation, AM/NS India reaffirmed its commitment to creating a culture of road safety and responsible driving across its operational sites and beyond.
