A Programmatic Move: AM/NS India launches unique skill development centre at Paradip

To provide free training and placement opportunity to 200 youth from EWS households

Paradip, May 17, 2022: In a significant move that would benefit countless people belonging to the marginalized sections of the society, ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) in association with with Funfirst Global Skillers Pvt Ltd on Tuesday launched a unique skill development centre was at Paradipgarh.

The  centre aims at imparting digital skills and placement opportunity to 200 youth from marginalised sections of nearby areas like Paradeepgarh, Nuagarh, Bhutamundai, Chakradharpur, Handia, Nimidihi, Pipala, Balidia.

The centre was inaugurated by Mr Tapan Ranjan Swain, District Employment Officer, Jagatsinghpur and Mr Suresha G, Executive Director, Odisha Assets, AM/NS India in the presence of Mr Debendra Rout, Sarpanch, Nuagarh, Ms Sasmita Behera, Sarpanch, Paradeepgarh, Mr Rohit Jena, Sarpanch Bhutmundai, Mr Amit Gupta, CEO and Founder of Funfirst, Dr. Vikas Yadvendu, Head CSR AM/NS India, students and staff of the centre and other senior officials of the company.

AM/NS India in association with National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and its training partners Funfirst Global Skillers Pvt Ltd (FGSPL) will be offering two Courses (Domestic Data Entry Operator and CRM Domestic – Non Voice) to the candidates. The candidates will undergo a basic screening and counselling session before enrolment. The training of 440 hrs is complemented with Industry Sessions and Visits. The candidates will be given placement opportunities and will also be tracked post placement. This project will have 12 months duration to achieve the targets with 70% successful placements.

Speaking on occasion, Mr G. Suresha said, “As a responsible corporate, we at AM/NS India are committed to the development of our community. The demand of today is digital empowerment of people, especially our youth. This digital skill development centre is a humble effort in this direction by our CSR arm and we sincerely look forward to a highly skilled and empowered youth force who will bring laurels to our state.”
