Acid attack on businessman – three including two women arrested

Jajpur,Dec 22 :   Three persons including two women were arrested on Thursday  in connection with the acid attack on a businessman at Jaraka market   under Dharmasala police station in Jajpur district  on 19 December afternoon .

The incident happened when Ashok Sahoo, the president of Jaraka market Businessmen’s  Association was on his way to his  shop  . Sahoo suffered minor burn injuries as the acid was thrown on his coat . After this incident, Sahoo lodged an FIR in the police station and alleged that  Jhunulata Baral and others threw acid at him   .

 Acting on the FIR , police launched an investigation and arrested Jhunulata Baral  and  Jharana Palei of Jaraka and Hemant Sethi of Nihalaprasad village  under  section- 326 (Voluntarily throwing or attempting to throw acid, etc.) of Indian Penal Code  said  Rakesh Tripathy the IIC of Dharmasala police station.
