Husband, stepsons behead woman, chop off her fingers over suspected affair

Uttar Pradesh,SEPT 30 :  The Uttar Pradesh Police on Friday found the headless body of a woman with four of her fingers missing in Banda district.

The woman, aged about 35-40 years, was partially clothed and her head was found at some distance from her body, according to the Superintendent of Police Ankur Agarwal. The body was identified as one Maya Devi, wife of Ramkumar Ahirwar, a resident of Chhatarpur district in Madhya Pradesh.

Other than the missing fingers, police found that the woman’s hair was cut off and her teeth were crushed to conceal her identity.

Following a prima facie investigation, police suspected the family members of the woman of being involved in the killing.

During interrogation, Ramkumar, the husband, his sons Suraj Prakash and Brijesh, and nephew Udaibhan, confessed to having hatched the woman’s murder, the SP said.

According to Ramkumar’s testimony, Maya Devi was his second wife, and suspected her of having an affair with one of his sons, Agarwal said.

Infuriated with this, the four accused took Maya Devi to Chamraha village, strangled her to death and cut her head with an axe. They also cut four of her fingers.

The vehicle and axe used in the crime have been recovered by the police, the SP said.

The police were able to solve the case within 24 hours. SP Ankur Agrawal said that all accused in the case were arrested and would be sent to jail.

Further legal action is being taken against them.

“A reward of Rs 25,000 will be given to the police team from my side,” said the police official.
