Passenger onboard Delhi to Chennai IndiGo flight attempts to open emergency door

NEW DELHI,SEPT 20 : A passenger onboard a Chennai-bound IndiGo flight attempted to open the emergency door of the airplane early on Wednesday. The incident occurred on IndiGo flight 6E 6341, that took flight from Delhi on Tuesday night.

Identified as Manikandan, the man was handed over to officials of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on arrival at the Chennai airport. IndiGo authorities have filed a complaint against the man, and an investigation into the matter is underway.

The airline authorities briefed the CISF officials about the incident upon landing at the Chennai airport, requesting action against the accused.

“Upon arrival, our crew identified one passenger tried to open the emergency exit door. Unruly passenger form filled, hence as per procedure, we are about to lodge a complaint in police station. Requesting your team to allocate CISF officials to escort the passenger to the police station,” the official letter written to the CISF authorities on Wednesday read.
