Bolangir. 11: Three teachers, who grabbed jobs by allegedly furnishing fake certificates of their educational qualifications in Odisha’s Bolangir, are on the run fearing their arrest.
The development happened following the arrest of a Hindi teacher identified as Minamayee Panda who was working at Randa High School in the district for the last ten years by allegedly submitting a fake B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) certificate.
The District Education Officer (DEO) had lodged police complaints against all four teachers on August 8 after it was proved that they had submitted fake certificates to grab jobs following the verification. The DEO had also issued show-cause notices to them. While Minamayee was arrested, the other three teachers are absconding.
Notably, certificates of more than 400 teachers in the district have been sent for verification by the education department.
It is not clear as to how and from where the teachers managed to get the fake certificates.
It may be noted that following the detection of an organised fake certificate racket in Bolangir district recently, the authorities are undertaking thorough scrutiny of the certificates submitted by teachers and others.
Earlier a couple of days ago, a woman teacher in Bhadrak district was placed under suspension for allegedly submitting a fake B.Ed certificate to grab the job.
