PPA HONORS TOP PARTNERS IN “AWARDS NITE -2023”
The Awards Nite -2023 was held, last evening, at the Biju Convention Centre of PPA. Gracing the occasion as Chief Guest, Shri P. L. Haranadh, Chairman, PPA said that the entire efforts of Port users and Team Paradip delivered 135.36 MMT cargo handling mark in FY 2022-23. Paradip Port has recorded the highest ever growth of 19.02 MMT Traffic i.e 16.56 % over the last fiscals’ traffic among all the Ports in the country. Paradip Port has contributed 19.2 million metric tonnes i.e. 25.6% out of the total growth in cargo handling achieved by all the major ports during the financial year 2022-23. During the last financial year, the Port has achieved highest ever coastal shipping traffic of 58.42 million metric tonnes, with a growth of 16.22 million metric tonnes i.e. 38% over the previous year. The thermal coal coastal shipping has grown by 14 million metric tonnes i.e. 50% over the previous year cargo handling. Thus, the Paradip Port is emerging as a hub for coastal shipping in the country. The berth productivity of 31050 MT achieved by Paradip Port is the highest among all the ports of the country. Shri Haranadh congratulated the entire team comprising of Exporters & Importers; who patronize the Port, Officers, Staff Unions, PPP Operators, Stevedores, Shipping Agents etc. whose combined effort has resulted in this stupendous achievement. Shri Haranadh, Chairman also expressed his gratitude to Hon’ble Minister, MoPSW, Shri Sarbananda Sonowalji, Hon’ble Ministers of State, MoPSW, Shri Shripad Naikji & Shri Shantanu Thakurji and Shri Sudhansh Pant, Secretary, MoPSW, for their guidance and support. He also expressed his thanks to Ministry of Railways, Department of Customs, Govt. of Odisha, and all other organizations who supported the effort of the Port.
Shri Haranadh, then presented awards to the best performing Exporters, Importers, Stevedores, BOT Operators, HMC operators and Shipping/Steamer Agents like IOCL, TATA Steel, Arcelor Mittal Nippon Steel India Limited, Orissa Stevedores Ltd., M/s Chennai Radha Engg. Works (Pvt.) Ltd. etc. Shri A.K.Bose, Ex-Dy.Chairman, PPA was felicitated with Lifetime Achievement Award. Shri G. Edision, T.M., PPA offered the vote of thanks.
