India logs over 12k fresh Covid cases, 42 more deaths

NEW DELHI,APR 22 : India has recorded 12,193 fresh Covid cases in a span of 24 hours, with the number of active cases of the infection going up to 67,556, the Union health ministry said on Saturday.

The death toll due to the viral infection has climbed to 5,31,300 with 42 more fatalities, including 10 reconciled by Kerala, according to the ministry’s data updated at 8 am.

India records 11,692 new Covid cases, 19 deaths in last 24 hours

The tally of Covid cases was recorded at 4,48,81,877.

According to the website of the health ministry, the total number of active cases represents only 0.15% of the overall caseload, whereas the national Covid recovery rate stands at 98.66%.

Delhi records 1,603 fresh Covid cases, 3 deaths in 24 hours       

The number of individuals who have recovered from the virus has increased to 4,42,83,021, while the case fatality rate is 1.18%. Furthermore, the website reports that 220.66 crore doses of anti-COVID vaccines have been administered to individuals throughout the country.
