Tight security arrangement to be made for President’s two-day visit to Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar, Feb. 6: A high-level meeting to chalk out security arrangements and other aspects relating to the President Droupadi Murmu’s two-day visit to Odisha capital Bhubaneswar was held here on Monday held under the chairmanship of state chief secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra.

Briefing reporters after the meeting,  Commissioner of Police (CP) Soumendra Priyadarshi said, “During her two visit beginning February 10, she will visit Lingaraj temple and the National Rice Research Institute, take part in Gyanaprava Mission’s programme at Utkal Mandap and convocation programme of Rama Devi Women’s University.

Security arrangements at the airport, venues, route lining, security of venues and helipad were discussed at the meeting.”

“Our preparation for the President’s visit has already started. We will take all the steps as per the security guidelines to make sure that the President’s visit ends well,” he added.

The President is coming to Bhubaneswar on a two-day visit starting February 10.

It will be her second visit after assuming the highest constitutional post of India. The last time she visited Odisha was on November 10, 2022, and stayed for two days.

During her stay, she visited Srimandir, the abode of Lord Jagannath in Puri; Tapoban High School in Khandagiri, Unit-2 Government Girl’s High School and Kuntala Kumari Sabat Tribal Hostel, Jaydev Bhawan and inaugurated the Odia textbook for engineering and a portal (e-Kumbh), all in Bhubaneswar.
