Koraput dist administration holds Mega Jana Sampark Shivir

Koraput, Feb. 25: After Andhra Pradesh government’s recent efforts to undertake development activities in 28 villages, including 21 controversial villages under the Kotia gram panchayat, the Odisha government is trying hard to retain the trust of the residents of these area.
On Saturday, Koraput administration conducted a Mega Jana Sampark Shivir in Kotia villagers apparently to have direct interface with the residents. During the exercise, 400 people underwent health checkup and were distributed free medicines.
At least 11 persons were given work orders of houses under Indira Awas Yojana, 40 people were given old-age pensions; five physically-challenged persons were given tricycles and walking-sticks while 144 beneficiaries were given ration cards.
Youth clubs of six villages were given volleyballs and nets.
Presided over by Collector Deben Pradhan, the Mega Jana Sampark Yatra was among others attended by superintendent of police Kanwar Vishal Singh, IPS officer Sagarika Nath and District Planning Board chairman Prafulla Pangi.
The health camp was inaugurated by Pottangi MLA Prafulla Pangi after puja at Jagannath Temple, Kotia.
