Lineman suffers burn injury during transformer repair work

Rayagada, March 18: Nararayan Behera, electrical lineman hailing from Pediguda under Ranipinda gram panchayat in Muniguda block has sustained serious burn injuries while repairing a transfer.

The accident occurred on Thursday due to the mistake of junior engineer and sub-divisional officer (SDO), Muniguda, report said on Saturday.

Behera is undergoing treatment at Christian Hospital, Bissam-Cuttack.

According to Narayan Behera, he was repairing transformer after power shutdown but somebody charged it during the work, causing severe shock.

The incident has sent shockwaves in the area and the local people have demanded strong action against the concerned junior engineer and SDO.
