Salman Khan checks on me every night after father’s death: Zeeshan Siddique
MUMBAI, OCT 28 : Politician and Baba Siddique’s son Zeeshan Siddique shared in a recent interview that actor Salman Khan, a close family friend, regularly checked on him every night following his father’s shocking murder in Mumbai earlier this month. Baba Siddique, 66, was shot dead outside Zeeshan’s office while he was bursting firecrackers on the occasion of Dussehra on October 12. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the murder, saying the NCP leader was targeted due to his close association with Salman Khan.
Speaking to BBC Hindi, Zeeshan Siddique, 32, shared how Khan had been a huge source of support after his father’s death.
“Salman bhai…woh bhi bahut upset hue iss cheez se. Pitaji aur Salman bhai sage bhai jaise close the. Aur pitaji ke jaane ke baad bhi bhai ne bahut support diya hai. Humesha check karte hai mere pe raat ko. Yeh woh…neend nahi aati hai…baat karte hai (Salman Bhai… he was very upset about this too. My father and Salman Bhai were very close, like real brothers. Even after my father passed away, Salman Bhai has been very supportive. He always checks on me at night. If I can’t sleep, we talk).”
“Hamesha unka support toh raha hai (His support has always been there),” Siddique said.
Zeeshan Siddique joined the NCP faction led by Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar last week and has been declared as its candidate from the Vandre East constituency. He was expelled from the Congress in August for allegedly cross-voting in the Maharashtra legislative council elections, a charge he had earlier refuted.
