8,000 women perform folk dance at International Kullu Dussehra Festival in Himachal
Himachal Pradesh,Oct 8 : As many as 8,000 women, attired in traditional outfits, took part in the International Kullu Dussehra Festival and performed folk dance at Rath Maidan in Kullu on Friday.
The dance is a part of the Kullu festivities and women and girls from the entire Kullu district voluntarily participate in the performance.
Kullu Dussehra Festival is an internationally renowned fair celebrated during the month of October in Himachal Pradesh.
The festivities begin on “Vijaya Dashmi” and continue for seven days.
The International Kullu Dussehra Festival will be celebrated from October 5 to 11 at Dhalpur Ground in Kullu. The event is unique in the sense that it is the congregation of worshippers of more than 300 deities of the valley.
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the historic Dussehra festival of Kullu in Himachal Pradesh. It is the first time ever that the prime minister participated in the Kullu Dussehra celebrations.
