1 dead, two injured after fire breaks out near Parakh Hospital in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar

MUMBAI,DEC 17: A fire broke out in Juno’s Pizza restaurant near Parakh Hospital in Mumbai’s Ghatkopar area on Saturday afternoon, killing one person and injuring two others.

According to the Mumbai Fire Service, the fire was reported around 2pm. After receiving information, five fire tenders were sent to the spot to bring the fire under control.

According to fire officials, the fire broke out in the electric meter room of Juno’s Pizza Hotel, which is located on the ground floor of Vishwas building near Parakh hospital.

According to officials of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, three people were injured in the fire and were rushed to Rajawadi Hospital. One of the injured, identified as Qurshi Dedhia (46), was declared brought dead.

Two other people are currently undergoing treatment. One of them, identified as Taniya Kamble (18), got 18% to 20% burnt in the fire. “Another woman, identified as 20-year-old Kulsum Shaikh, got suffocated in the fire and is currently undergoing treatment,” said the chief medical officer of Rajawadi Hopsital.

Meanwhile, 22 patients admitted to Parakh Hospital were shifted to another hospital after they complained of difficulty breathing due to the fire.
