JAJPUR- Odisha’s second steel city at Kalinganagar has completed twenty-five years. The then Chief Minister of Odisha had visualized the Kalininganagar industrialization dream in 1990s and planned to set up steel hub in Jajpur district. He laid foundation stone of industrialization in Kalinganagar area under Sukinda and Danagadi blocks in 1992. His dream for industrialization came true and now over ten small, large and medium industries are operating in Kalinganagar area. The first ever “Kalinganagar Mahotsav” has been organized with a purpose to pay tribute to visionary leader Biju Babu.
The Kalinganagar Mahotsav 2018 started at Maa Mahapat ground at Telibahali in Kalinga Nagar Industrial area on December 22 and it will continue till December 26. The Sports and youth affairs minister of Odisha Mr. Chandra Sarathi Behera kick started the grand Mahotsav with mini-marathon in the presence of local MLA Mr. Pritiranjan Ghadei and others in morning. Over hundreds of youths took part in min-marathon.
In evening, the health and law minister Mr. Pratap Jena inaugurated the first ever Kalinganagar Mahotsav in presence of former finance minister in Naveen government Mr. Prafulla Chandra Ghadei, Jajpur MLA Mr. Pranab Prakash Das, Bari MLA Mr. Debasis Nayak and others.
While the chief guest and other dice dignitaries appreciated the initiative of local MLA for success of first ever “Kalinganatar Mahotsav”, which has been implemented within twenty-five days, all the ears and eyes were seeking the address of former local MLA and finance minister Mr. Prafula Ghadai.
Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Ghadei said: “Kalinganagar Industrial complex or second steel city of state was the dream and vision of former chief minister Biju Patnaik 25 years ago. He was initiated the process of industrialization in 1990s and invited industry leaders, experts to make Sukinda of jajpur a steel hub. Now, Kalinganagar has created a special identity not only in India but also abroad.
Initially, he struggled and then he successfully implemented his dream. I had dreamt about Kalinganagar Mahotsav five years ago, but certain unfavorable circumstances delayed the implementation part, now I thanks to local MLA, administration, local people, displaced families and industries for successful inauguration of grand Mahotsav.
Kalinganagar Mahotsav is the real tribute to late Biju Babu”.
Local MLA Mr. Pritiranjan Ghadai told that “The aim of the Mahotasv to create conducive environment at Kalinganagar and it will minimize the gap between industries and local people. It will provide a platform to youngsters to showcase their talents. Various cultural programs are being celebrated to entertain the people in Mahotsav”.
The industries have showcased their work in stalls, tribal food displayed, and many other entertainment options pulled thousands of footfalls during five-day long Kalinganagar Mahotsav. It has also facilitated a cultural platform to ensure harmony in industrial area.
