ITR observes 35th Lab Raising Day

Balasore:  Integrated Test Range (ITR), Chandipur, the premiere defence research and development (R & D) establishment engaged in Test and Evaluation of rockets and air-borne systems, observed its 35th Lab Raising Day (Annual Day) on December 10, 2017.

To celebrate this occasion, a colourful cultural function was organised. Former Director of the laboratory S C Narag was present as the chief guest during the function along with Dr B K Das, Director ITR. Dr Gitanjali Batmanabane, Director, AIIMS Bhubaneswar and Dr M Manickavasagam, Project Director from another DRDO Laboratory ASL, Hyderabad were present as distinguished guests

Associate Director, ITR, M V Bhaskarachary, Chairman Raising Day Committee C R Ojha and Vice-Chairman CG Subudhi were also present at the dais.

During his address Chairman Raising Day Committee, C R Ojha briefed about various events which were conducted on the eve of 35th Raising Day. Associate Director, ITR, Shri M V Bhaskrachary in his address emphasised on the effort of ITR team in making this event possible in spite of a busy mission schedule.

Director, ITR, DR B K Das, in his address to the employees highlighted the achievements of ITR during the year 2017 and appreciated one and all for achieving the goals set for the year. He appreciated the sacrifice made by the families towards the success of Indian missile programme. However, he emphasised that team ITR should continue the effort so that ITR will excel further in spite of being one of the busiest Test Ranges in the world.

Distinguished Guest, Dr M Manikavasagam highlighted the transformation of ITR as a world class test range and the tremendous achievements demonstrating professionalism in Test, Evaluation and Post flight mission analysis.

Director AIIMS, Bhubaneswar, Dr Gitanjali Batmanabane, distinguished guest on this occasion also lauded the achievements of ITR under the dynamic leadership of Dr. B K Das. The Chief Guest S C Narang, who has served as the Director of ITR during 1996 to 2005, appreciated the evolution of ITR as a World Class Test Range from a humble effort to have a facility to test defence systems.

On this occasion, a number of employees of ITR were awarded for providing excellent services in various fields of Range activities.  ITR employees and their family members were also awarded for various events conducted on the eve of Raising Day 2017.
