Cuttack, Dec. 8: A woman doctor found unconscious under mysterious circumstances near a temple in Odisha’s Cuttack city died on Friday while undergoing treatment.

The deceased identified as Dr Sasmita Biswal was working as Associate Professor in Department of Pharmacology at VSS Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR), Burla.

As per reports, Biswal was found unconscious near Panchamukhi Hanuman temple in Khapuria area under Madhupatna police limits here.

She was rescued and rushed to SCB Medical College and Hospital in a critical condition.

However, she died while undergoing treatment.

While she was being rescued, a syringe was found injected into her body, reports added.

It was suspected that the 47-year-old medico committed suicide over some family dispute.

She was posted at VIMSAR in 2013.
